Guwahati (Assam) [India], June 26 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday visited the under-construction site of the trumpet interchange, a part being developed with the bridge connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati over the Brahmaputra and took stock of its progress.
He asked the officials to ensure its early completion. The trumpet is a crucial link to the under-construction bridge over the Brahmaputra connecting the north and south of Guwahati.
Chief Minister Sarma, during his visit, talked to the officials associated with the construction of the trumpet junction and the bridge and asked them to ensure their early completion.
He said that all efforts have been taken to complete the construction of the Guwahati and North Guwahati connecting bridge over the Brahmaputra by December-January. He also said that once the bridge is dedicated to the public, vehicles can reach the National Highway via IIT and GNRC, as the construction of the trumpet junction will not be completed by then.
“Once the trumpet is ready to be used in the months of May-June next year, vehicles can reach the National Highway using the trumpet interchange for vehicular movements,” the Chief Minister said.
Special commissioner and secretary PWD (Roads) Bibhuti Saikia, DC Kamrup Deba Kumar Mishra, and other experts and officials were present during the Chief Minister’s visit to the site. (ANI)
